Entrepreneurship and Creativity

Entrepreneurship is not just something that people are born into; entrepreneurs make their own path towards the future. The world of today is calling for people to come up with ideas that would benefit this world socially or economically. Donald F. Kuratko and Richard M. Hodgetts wrote in their article titled Entrepreneurship: A Contemporary Approach, “Entrepreneurism is now one of the most sought after disciplines to be learned within our educational systems.” There is a high demand for entrepreneurs and people need to take time and create a new venture, but first they must now how to become one. To be a successful entrepreneur, people need to take risks, be proactive, and let their passion drive them.

A great entrepreneur takes risks. Not every entrepreneur out there is rich, therefore, those who are seeking to be an entrepreneur have to make the sacrifice of investing their money towards what they plan to achieve. Although in reality, investing that money would not be a sacrifice because that money is going towards a good cause. Entrepreneurs also take the risk of whether their plan will actually work. For instance, if an accountant creates his own firm, he has to hope that he will have clients to keep his business going. Deciding whether to take a risk is a tough decision to make, but if your reason to take the risk is for good cause, then one should definitely take that risk.

Also, a person who wants to be an entrepreneur must be proactive. One must take the initiative by actually doing something about a certain situation rather than just sitting down on the side and not doing anything about it. For example, global warming is a huge problem around the world and a proactive person would either find a way to help prevent global warming or come up with some sort consumer good that could replace the a high pollutant such as a car. One must be constantly looking for ways to improve our way of life. That is why entrepreneurs are needed; we need to help make the world a better place.

The key thing an entrepreneur must have is passion. Passion is what motivates one to go through with something and actually cause change. Without passion, there is nothing that would motivate a person to do a certain thing. One’s passion is what drives them and helps them accomplish whatever they hope to accomplish. With that passion that one holds, they must act upon it and do something about it. Entrepreneurship is being taught in schools because the world is needing those bright individuals that can cause change, so make your mark in this world.

I agree that an entrepreneur is sometimes just born with the drive to accomplish their goals and dreams. Some people just have the ability to stay motivated more than others!

I never thought about passion being a huge part of entrepreneurship, but it's totally true. How could you stay motivated on something you don't have passion for?

I agree with you that entrepreneurs take risks. They are the type of people that done take no for an answer and always find a way instead of a way out. I feel that entrepreneurs are the driving force behind America and its growth.

When you think about the amount of people who try to become entrepreneurs only a few become very successful, so it shows how difficult it is.
